The Fun Archaeology is the collection of the french artist Thomas Mailaender. Archaeology, or archeology, is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, and cultural landscapes. Archaeology can be considered both a social science and a branch of the humanities. In North America, archaeology is considered a sub-field of anthropology, while in Europe archaeology is often viewed as either a discipline in its own right or a sub-field of other disciplines. Word Origin and History for fun: « diversion, amusement, » 1727, earlier « a cheat, trick » (c.1700), from verb fun (1680s) « to cheat, hoax, » of uncertain origin, probably a variant of Middle English fonnen « befool ». Stigmatized by Johnson as « a low cant word. » Older sense is preserved in phrase to make fun of (1737) and funny money « counterfeit bills » (1938, though this may be more for the sake of the rhyme). Thirty-two different sorts of steel photographed with a microscope. Each description incorporates a chemical analysis and different chemical reaction experimentation. The album measures 27,5 x 22 cm and includes 61 vintage gelatin silver prints measuring 8 x 8 cm, plus various documents on metallurgy.
