4 vintage gelatin silver prints 18 x 24 cm by french photographer Robert Doisneau depicting the « Ratodrome Gustave » in Neuilly, west suburb of Paris. Red stamp « Robert Doisneau » at the back of the prints.The owner of that place, Belgian citizen Gustave Xhrouet, was one of the best rat exterminator in town. On the weekend he would he would organized competitions were rats would fight with dogs. Circa 1940.A book titled « Les métiers curieux de Paris » published by éditions Jehebe written by Albert Fournier. The Chapter number 23 « The director of the Ratodrome » is a written portrait of Mr Xhrouet at work. This book features 8 pictures by Robert Doisneau.
