The Fun Archaeology is the collection of the french artist Thomas Mailaender. Archaeology, or archeology, is the study of human activity through the recovery and analysis of material culture. The archaeological record consists of artifacts, architecture, biofacts or ecofacts, and cultural landscapes. Archaeology can be considered both a social science and a branch of the humanities. In North America, archaeology is considered a sub-field of anthropology, while in Europe archaeology is often viewed as either a discipline in its own right or a sub-field of other disciplines. Word Origin and History for fun: « diversion, amusement, » 1727, earlier « a cheat, trick » (c.1700), from verb fun (1680s) « to cheat, hoax, » of uncertain origin, probably a variant of Middle English fonnen « befool ». Stigmatized by Johnson as « a low cant word. » Older sense is preserved in phrase to make fun of (1737) and funny money « counterfeit bills » (1938, though this may be more for the sake of the rhyme). The album contains 21 black pages (18,5x16cm) containing 23 color photos (13,5x9,5cm) mainly depicting the same dog in font of his house or in the garden. Two female figures, one young and one old, appear too. The album has been produced by Harlekin Geschenke shop in Wiesbaden in 1982 .
